Joey + Allie
Although cooler temps for the November wedding, this couple and their people created the most fun, warm and deeply meaningful day. As I sat down with Joey and Allie, one of the most important things to them was doing a first look down the aisle. We had a number of challenges to work around given the short daylight (it was daylight savings), but that desire was fulfilled and we even managed to take the short drive to Lake Pepin for sunset photos. Woods and Co is the most beautiful and dramatic space. The gorgeous black walls are met with massive windows that capture the beautiful woods that surround it. Not to mention the outdoor ceremony space has a breathtaking cliffside as the backdrop. One of my favorite moments with Joey and Allie was the private vow reading they did before the ceremony as well as the glowy candlelight when evening fell. The chandeliers and candles created the most moody romantic vibe, you almost found yourself welcoming the early sunset and dark skies. And for a photographer that loves natural light, that's really saying something ;-).
